Tumbling Classes

Registration Policy: You must pre-register for all classes. An athlete account must be set up in iClassPro (parent portal) with payment information stored. In some cases, pre-approval to enroll is needed. Please see individual class descriptions for any prerequisites.

All full season athletes should enroll in the recommended classes for their level and color in accordance with our tumbling progression program.

Fundamentals

Beginner Tumble

The athlete will condition and learn body control as well as learn the correct technique for handstands, cartwheels, round offs, bridges, back bends, kick overs, and back walkovers. This class is the class to take if you are working towards a back handspring.

Level 2

Beginner Back Handspring

This class will focus on the proper technique of the back handspring. It will also focus on the technique of connecting the back handspring to the round off. Before taking this class you must be able to perform proper technique of all basics as well as aback walkover.

Advanced Back Handspring

This class will focus on connecting multiple standing and running back handsprings. It will also focus on the rebound to prepare athletes for back tucks. Before taking this class you must be able to perform a standing back handspring as well as a round off back handspring.

Elite 2

This class teaches all level 2 specialty passes. Skills the athletes will learn are front walk overs, back handspring step outs, back handspring half turn rebounds, and back walkover back handsprings. This class will also focus on the proper technique in the beginning steps of aback tuck. Before taking this class, the athlete must first be able to perform a standing and running multiple back handsprings.

Level 3

Beginner Tuck

Athletes learn the proper technique of the rebound/set, back tuck, and how to properly land, as well as learn to connect it to the round off back handspring. Before taking this class athletes must be able to perform with good technique, standing and running multiple back handsprings.

Standing/Running to Tuck

Athletes focus on the power speed and technique of a round off back handspring tuck. Before enrolling, athletes must have a running round off back handspring tuck without a spot on the spring floor. Athletes will also work on the technique of standing back handspring tuck and standing multiple back handsprings to a tuck. This is not a standing tuck class.

Elite 3

Athletes will learn how to do specialty passes that end in a round off back handspring tuck. They will learn how to front walkover, punch front stick, round off half turn rebounds and back handspring step outs through to tuck. This class will also teach the athletes proper technique in the beginning steps of a layout. Before taking this class, you must be able to perform perfect standing multiple back handsprings and running multiple back handsprings through to a tuck.

Level 4

Beginner Layout

This class will focus on the technique of the set, the layout, and the landing of the layout. Athletes will focus on the body position of the layout, and how to connect it to standing and running round off back handsprings. Before taking this class, Athletes must be able to perform with perfect technique a standing and running round off back handspring tuck.

Standing Tuck

This class will focus on building the leg and core muscle needs to complete a standing tuck. It will also focus on the set, pull, and stick and stand of the standing tuck. Before taking this class, you must be able to complete a perfect back handspring through to tuck.

Standing/Running to Layout

This class will focus on the technique, power and speed of the layout. Athletes will work on their set and form of the layout as well as sticking and standing their layout. Before taking this class you must be able to perform perfect standing and running back handsprings through to tuck.

Elite 4

This class will perfect the standing tuck as well as work on specialty standing and running passes that end in a layout (whips, punch front step outs, front handspring punch front step outs, and bounding skills). Athletes will also work on the body position and twisting position of a full. Athletes will NOT perform fulls in this class, only technique of the beginning steps of the full. Before taking this class you must be able to demonstrate perfect standing and running back handsprings through to a Layout.

Level 5

Beginner Full

This class will work on the technique of the set, layout and twist, and the landing of a round off back handspring full. Athletes must be able to perform a perfect standing and running round off back handspring layout before taking this class.

Standing/Running to Full/Double Full

This class will work on perfecting the set and form for the full and double full as well as sticking and standing the skill. Before taking this class, you must be able to perform a running round off back handspring through to full.

Elite 5

Athletes work on standing fulls, whips, arabians, punch fronts, and any other specialty pass through to a full or double full. Before taking this class you must be able to demonstrate perfect standing and running back handsprings through to a full as well as specialty pass through to layout.

Standing Full

Athletes will focus on building the leg and core muscle needs to complete a standing full. It will also focus on the set, pull, and stick and stand of the standing full. Before taking this class, you must be able to complete a perfect standing tuck.
